These are listings of state, federal, and local agencies as well as other organizations that are a resource for the Upper San Joaquin River Watershed Assessment.

Link California Air Resources Board
The California Air Resources Board is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, an organization which reports directly to the Governor's Office in the Executive Branch of California State Government. The Mission of the California Air Resources Board is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state.
Link California Department of Fish and Game
The Department of Fish and Game maintains native fish, wildlife, plant species and natural communities for their intrinsic and ecological value and their benefits to people. This includes habitat protection and maintenance in a sufficient amount and quality to ensure the survival of all species and natural communities. The department is also responsible for the diversified use of fish and wildlife including recreational, commercial, scientific and educational uses.

The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection serves and safeguards the people and protects the property and resources of California.
Link California Department of Public Health
The California Department of Public Health will provide more focused state leadership in public health and health care financing and create a more effective public health infrastructure in California. The department will increase accountability and improve the effectiveness of both public health and health care purchasing activities.

Link California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES)
CERES is an information system developed by the California Resources Agency to facilitate access to a variety of electronic data describing California's rich and diverse environments. The goal of CERES is to improve environmental analysis and planning by integrating natural and cultural resource information from multiple contributors and by making it available and useful to a wide variety of users.
Link California Geological Survey (CGS)
In 1880 the California Legislature established the State Mining Bureau which has evolved during its 127 years of continuous service into the modern California Geological Survey (CGS). Of course the earliest history of CGS has its founding roots entwined with the discovery of gold in 1848. The CGS staff is dedicated to the fulfillment of our stated mission of providing information and advice to protect life and property from natural hazards and to promote a better understanding of California's diverse geologic environment. CGS geoscientists, engineers, and support staff take great pride in being part of an organization that has a 127 year legacy of providing scientific and engineering service to the State of California.
Link Central Valley Regional Water Quality Contol Board
The primary duty of the Regional Board is to protect the quality of the waters within the Region for all beneficial uses. This duty is implemented by formulating and adopting water quality plans for specific ground or surface water basins and by prescribing and enforcing requirements on all agricultural, domestic and industrial waste discharges. Specific responsibilities and procedures of the Regional Boards and the State Water Resources Control Board are contained in the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act.
Link Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
NRCS employees provide technical assistance based on sound science and suited to a customer's specific needs. We provide financial assistance for many conservation activities. Participation in our programs is voluntary.

NOAA’s dedicated scientists use cutting-edge research and high-tech instrumentation to provide citizens, planners, emergency managers and other decision makers with reliable information they need when they need it.
Link Inyo-Mono Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRWMP)
The Inyo-Mono IRWMP project is comprised of a broad array of stakeholders throughout Inyo and Mono Counties as well as stakeholders from northern San Bernardino and Kern Counties (link to proposed geographic boundary map). Currently there are more than thirty public, private and not-for-profit entities actively working towards the goal of establishing and implementing an IRWMP for Inyo and Mono Counties. Those involved represent interests ranging from municipal water districts, Indian tribes, public lands, farming communities and conservation organizations having vested interests in how water is managed in eastern California (link to bottom right hand column containing the list of participants). The Inyo-Mono IRWMP is governed by two committees. The Planning Committee includes representatives from all entities participating in the IRWM Planning process. Additionally, there is a Coordinating Committee which serves as the project's management team. The Coordinating Committee helps guide the larger IRWMP throughout the planning and implementation process by proposing policies, recommendations, and drafts to the larger decision-making body, the Planning Committee.

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (Valley Air District) is committed to improving the health and quality of life for all Valley residents through effective and cooperative air quality programs.
Link US Bureau of Reclamation - South-Central California Area Office (SCCAO)
The South-Central California Area Office (SCCAO) is responsible for managing land and water resources in the southern half of the Mid-Pacific Region. Generally bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to the north, the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east, the Tehachappi Mountains to the southeast, and Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties to the southwest, SCCAO has jurisdiction over approximately 2.5 million acres of irrigated lands, which represents about 25% of the Bureau-wide total.

Link U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR - BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT
BLM California manages 15.2 million acres of public lands, nearly 15% of the state's land area. The Bureau also administers 47 million acres of subsurface mineral estate underlying federal surface land, 2.5 million acres underlying privately owned land, 592,000 acres of Native American tribal land where BLM has trust responsibility for mineral operations. BLM California also manages 1.6 million acres in northwestern Nevada for cattle grazing, wild horses, recreation and wildlife habitat.
